Movie Quote Friday!

Pretty Woman

Vivian: So, what's your name?
Edward Lewis: Edward.
Vivian: Really? That's my favorite name in the whole world.
______________________________________________
Vivian: That would make you a... lawyer.
Edward Lewis: What makes you think I'm a lawyer?
Vivian: You have that sharp, useless look about you.
[after negotiating three thousand dollars]
Vivian: I would have stayed for two thousand.
Edward Lewis: I would have paid four.
_______________________________________________
Vivian: Can I call you Eddie?
Edward Lewis: Not if you expect me to answer.
Edward Lewis: I told you not to pick up the phone.
Vivian: Then stop calling me.
___________________________________________________
Edward Lewis: You can't charge me for directions!
Vivian: I can do anything I want to baby, I ain't lost.
Vivian: You're late.
Edward Lewis: You're stunning.
Vivian: You're forgiven.
________________________________________________________
Vivian: In case I forget to tell you later, I had a really good time tonight. Old Lady at Opera: Did you like the opera, dear?
Vivian: It was so good, I almost peed my pants!
Edward Lewis: She said she liked it better than Pirates of Penzance.
________________________________________________________
Vivian: People put you down enough, you start to believe it.
Edward Lewis: I think you are a very bright, very special woman.
Vivian: The bad stuff is easier to believe. You ever notice that?
_______________________________________________________
Vivian: When I was a little girl, my mama used to lock me in the attic when I was bad, which was pretty often. And I would- I would pretend I was a princess... trapped in a tower by a wicked queen. And then suddenly this knight... on a white horse with these colors flying would come charging up and draw his sword. And I would wave. And he would climb up the tower and rescue me. But never in all the time... that I had this dream did the knight say to me, "Come on, baby, I'll put you up in a great condo." Vivian: I want the fairy tale.
_______________________________________________________
Edward Lewis: So what happens after he climbs up and rescues her?
Vivian: She rescues him right back.

{I chose this one for my mom. It's one of her favorites. We used to have a VHS of this movie that we recorded from the TV, it was edited. I always got goosebumps at the end when he'd show up. }

a letter to HIB

{let me preface this by telling you that if you are unsure as to who HIB is then I would like to refer you to this post.
And for those of you who saw my status on FB, well this is why}

Dear HIB,

I finally made it to institute last night with Amanda. {after I think, 3 weeks of being unable to go}
You were there. {my heart skipped a beat}
No, I did not get the chance to talk to you, I am sorry.
I know. Please don’t be disappointed.
I did smile and you smiled back. {I’m taking baby steps}
But I have to admit.
Something weird happened. {And I am trying to figure out why.}
For whatever reason about halfway through the evening {after the smile} all the sudden you and your friends just kept looking over where we were standing.
It was weird.
It happened several times.
It reminded me of High School.
Completely awkward!
Ugh!
I left last night feeling more hopeless than ever.
I am now worried about next week.

xoxo,
your crush who is much too shy to approach you and secretly hoping you will take the first step

American Idol

I don't normally watch American Idol this early on.
But I love Ellen.
So I have tuned in.
Its not the same without Paula.
Its weird.
But I really like this guy. Andrew Garcia.
I can't get this version of Paula's song out of my head.
I think they would be smart to put it on iTunes.

I liked the risk he took tonight.
I just really like his voice.
That's just me.
We'll see what happens.
I'll try to stay tuned.

Weekend Update

{the weather here this weekend. loving this rain!}

The best weekends always go by fast huh?

Friday I took a half day at work. I had a killer headache. I came home and slept for 4 1/2 hours. It was nice. I was tired! We made some of the best homemade pizza. So good!!!

We shipped our parents off to Payson on Saturday {they are gone till Tuesday, party at our house...haha} for their Anniversary. Tylon and I went and picked oranges for the food bank for a YSA activity. I have never picked oranges like that so it was fun. It did rain on us and it was quite cold, but we survived. Callie came into town and we all went to The Cheesecake Factory for lunch. I love that place. It was nice for all the siblings {minus Randon, he had to stay in Safford} to get together for lunch. Callie and I walked around the mall. I found 2 dresses with the help of Callie and I am still debating how I feel in them. Dresses are kind of just odd on me. Definitely important to find the right fit in those things. We came home and watched The Time Travelers Wife. Good movie!

Sunday was nice. {well i could of gone with out the headache}

Today was a vacation day for me. And I got to go ver to Jessica's for a few hours and hold Preston. He is adorable. I had so much fun holding him and chatting with her. {I still have that headache I am wondering if its the weather.}

I also got some mail from two lovely ladies, Micaela and Belen. And I received some of my purchases in the mail. I finally went and bought that calendar and that journal. I love them.

{oh yes and my new bedding set...love it!}

I had a gret weekend. I hope you all did as well!
Here is to a great week ahead!!!!

Movie Quote Friday!

Runaway Bride

Maggie Carpenter: [reading Ike's notes] "How does she get all those guys to propose? She's not even that beautiful." Bite me, paper boy!
Maggie Carpenter: You're a cynical, exploitive, mean-hearted creep who wouldn't know real love if it bit him in the armpit.
________________________________________________________
Maggie Carpenter: Bless me Father for I have sinned. My last confession was... well. Anyway, I have sorta a technical question. I've been having bad thoughts, really bad thoughts.
Priest Brian: Of an impure nature?
Maggie Carpenter: No, No, I want to destroy this man's life, career everything. I want revenge. Now on a sins scale how bad is that? Can I Hail Mary my way out of that? Ike Graham: Hi, leave a message after the beep. If you want to send me a fax, then buy me a fax machine.
____________________________________________________
Maggie Carpenter: Is there one 'right' person for everyone?
Ike Graham: No, but I think attraction is mistaken for rightness. Maggie Carpenter: Benedict.
Ike Graham: Arnold.
Maggie Carpenter: I love Eggs Benedict, I hate every other kind. I hate big weddings with everybody staring. I'd like to get married on a weekday while everybody's at work. And when I ride off into the sunset, I want my own horse.
Ike Graham: Should I be writing this down?
[Ike and Maggie have just kissed]
Coach Bob Kelly: [to Maggie] If you were imagining me, you did great.
[turns to Ike]
Coach Bob Kelly: What the hell were YOU doing?
Ike Graham: I'm sorry, Bob. She kissed me back.
Maggie Carpenter: I kissed him back.
Coach Bob Kelly: Yeah, I caught that. Want to tell me how long this has been going on?
Maggie Carpenter: About a minute...?
Ike Graham: A little longer for me.
Maggie Carpenter: [smiles] Really?
Coach Bob Kelly: What do you expect me to say to this?
Ike Graham: How about - "I hope you'll be very happy together"?
[Bob punches Ike in the face]
Coach Bob Kelly: I hope you'll be very happy together. Maggie Carpenter: I wanted to tell you why I run - sometimes ride - away from things.
Ike Graham: Does it matter?
Maggie Carpenter: I think so.
[takes a deep breath]
Maggie Carpenter: When I was walking down the aisle, I was walking toward somebody who didn't have any idea who I really was. And it was only half the other person's fault, because I had done everything to convince him that I was exactly what he wanted. So it was good that I didn't go through with it because it would have been a lie. But you - you knew the real me.
Ike Graham: Yes, I did.
Maggie Carpenter: I didn't. And you being the one at the end of the aisle didn't just fix that. Maggie Carpenter: I love you, Homer Eisenhower Graham. Will you marry me?
Ike Graham: I... I've got to think about this a little bit.
Maggie Carpenter: Good. I was hoping you'd say that.
Ike Graham: [laughing] You were not!
Maggie Carpenter: I was, because if you said "yes" right away, then I wouldn't get to say this next part, and I've been practicing.
[Maggie sits down, clears her throat]
Maggie Carpenter: Ready?
Ike Graham: I'm listening.
Maggie Carpenter: I guarantee there'll be tough times. I guarantee that at some point, one or both of us is going to want get out. But I also guarantee...
[starts to cry]
Maggie Carpenter: ...that if I don't ask you to be mine, I'll regret it for the rest of my life. Because I know in my heart... you're the only one for me.
Ike Graham: [on the perfect proposal] Look, I guarantee there'll be tough times. I guarantee that at some point, one or both of us is gonna want to get out of this thing. But I also guarantee that if I don't ask you to be mine, I'll regret it for the rest of my life, because I know, in my heart, you're the only one for me.

{I love this movie...especially this last quote. I think its absolutely perfect. Oh and I am in LOVE with that wedding dress she wears at the end. I think its so gorgeous!}

Randomness

I am not getting to bed on time. {Thank You Olympics} … Anyone else watching? I love watching the Olympics…love the speed skating….the half-pipe…all of it. I am amazed at what these people do.

I just found out Keith Urban will be at Country Thunder this year. I must go!

I just bought a new bedding set. I am expecting it in the mail today. I can’t wait!

I have a camp kick-off meeting tonight. I had to make the name tags for all the stake staff. {Around 50} That was stressful. But it is done and now that’s something I won’t need to worry about come camp time. They will be done already. Now hopefully everyone will like them.

No institute tonight. Due to above meeting. As much as I want to go in my hopes of seeing HIB, I cannot. Darn it. So I really hope I can go next week. I may have an interview, but let’s hope I can still go.

I am taking Monday off. I originally had a few days off here for the original days Jadon and Amanda were gonna get married. So I will just take Monday off. And I will be going over to Jessica’s to hold baby Preston. I can’t wait!

I have reason to buy a new Sunday outfit. And well if needed a new pair of heels to match {darn it!} Any ideas of where to look? I would love to own a dress but for whatever reason they don’t look good on my body type. Not at all flattering! Maybe I haven’t found the right one. But I am all for cute skirts. I just need a new church outfit.

Weekend Update

What a nice weekend!!!

Friday Jadon officially proposed to Amanda with a ring. I also talked my mom into getting a pedicure/manicure. {Not that it was hard to talk her into.} Oh but it was so so nice. We met up with my Dad for dinner at Village Inn and then watched the Opening Ceremonies once we got home.
{the ring}

Saturday was crazy. There was a new store I wanted to go to and so my Mom and I set out. The plan was just to go to a couple stores I had other plans later. Those plans changed and my Mom and I ended up being gone shopping for like 8 hours. Yeah...8 Hours. Here is how it went. We went to Contagious, the Scrapbook Store, Target, then Hobby Lobby. We then decided to meet my sister, brother and Dad for lunch at Matta's {the best salsa ever!} After that we brought my sister along with us to Target and Kohl's then we followed her out to her house. After visiting at her house we went to Kmart, and Wal-mart and grabbing something for dinner to take home. It was crazy. But I had a fun. We ended the night watching Olympics.
{I found some cute black heels}

Sunday was Valentines Day. Nothing special. Went to church and then watched Olympics here at home. Spent it with the people I love most {my family}. It ended by finding a sweet note and rose from my baby brother on my pillow.
And today we went and got our hair did {yay for a holiday and no work!}. My plan was to do a combination of the 3.
{just look at the hair okay...i look like im sick or something}
Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

{p.s. I guest posted over on Desi's blog...check it out here}

Movie Quote Friday!

Steel Magnolias

Clairee Belcher: The older you get, the sillier you get.
Ouiser Boudreaux: Yeah, well the older you get, the uglier you get.
_________________________________________________________
Clairee: I've just been to the dedication of the new children's park.
Truvy: Yeah, how did that go?
Clairee: Janice Van Meter got hit with a baseball. It was fabulous.
Truvy: Was she hurt?
Clairee: I doubt it. She got hit in the head.
Truvy: Oh, Sammy's so confused he don't know whether to scratch his watch or wind his butt.
_________________________________________________________
Truvy: Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion.
_________________________________________________________
Truvy: What are your colors, Shelby?
Shelby: My colors are "blush" and "bashful."
M'Lynn: Her colors are "pink" and pink."
Shelby: My colors are "blush" and "bashful" Mama!
M'Lynn: How pretentious is this weddin' gonna get, I ask you?
_________________________________________________________
M'Lynn: Shelby, the boys bought the car around.
Shelby: What did they do to it?
M'Lynn: Well, let me put it this way... If you and Jackson want to practice safe sex, you're all set!

Shelby: I am going to be very, very careful, nobody is going to be hurt or disappointed or even inconvenienced.
M'Lynn: Least of all Jackson, I'm sure.
Shelby: You're jealous, because you no longer have a say so in what I do and that drives you up the wall. You're ready to spit nails because you can't call the shots.
M'Lynn: I did not raise my daughter to talk to me like this.
Shelby: Yes, you did.
M'Lynn: Oh no, I didn't.
Shelby: Whenever any of us asked you what you wanted for us when we grew up what did you say?
M'Lynn: Shelby, I'm not in the mood to play games.
Shelby: Just tell me what you said, Mama, what did you say?
M'Lynn: The only thing I have ever said to you, ever, is that I want you to be happy.
Shelby: Okay, the one thing that would make me happy is to have a baby. If I could adopt one I would, but I can't. I'm going to have a baby, and I wish you'd be happy too.
M'Lynn: I'll tell you what I wish. Well, I don't know what I wish.
Shelby: Mama, I don't know why you have to make everything so difficult. I look at having a baby as the opportunity of a lifetime. Sure there may be risk involved, but that's true for anybody. But you get through it and life goes on. And when it's all said and done there will be a little piece of immortality with Jackson's good looks and my sense of style, I hope. Please, please I need your support. I would rather have thirty minutes of wonderful than a lifetime of nothing special. Clairee Belcher: You know, you would be a much more contented, pleasant person if you would find ways to occupy your time.
Ouiser Boudreaux: I'm pleasant. Damn it! I saw Drum Eatenton this morning at the Piggly Wiggly, and I smiled at the son of a bitch 'fore I couldn't help myself.
________________________________________________________
Ouiser Boudreaux: You are evil, and you must be destroyed.
Clairee Belcher: Mother Nature's taking care of that faster than you could.
________________________________________________________

Ouiser Boudreaux: A dirty mind is a terrible thing to waste. Ouiser Boudreaux: Yes, Annelle, I pray! Well, I do! There, I said it, I hope you're satisfied.
Annelle: I suspected this all along!
Ouiser Boudreaux: Oh! Well don't you expect me to come to one of your churches or one of those tent-revivals with all those Bible-beaters doin' God-only-knows-what! They'd probably make me eat a live chicken!
Annelle: Not on your first visit!
Clairee Belcher: Very good, Annelle! Spoken like a true smart-ass! M'Lynn: I find it amusing. Men are supposed to be made out of steel or something. I just sat there. I just held Shelby's hand. There was no noise, no tremble, just peace. Oh god. I realize as a woman how lucky I am. I was there when that wonderful creature drifted into my life and I was there when she drifted out. It was the most precious moment of my life.
________________________________________________________
M'Lynn: Shelby, as you know, wouldn't want us to get mired down and wallow in this. We should handle it the best way we know how and get on with it. That's what my mind says, I just wish somebody would explain it to my heart.

{Oh how I love this movie. I can still remember the first time I saw it.
Thanks Natalie for the suggestion...This is such a GOOD movie!!!!}

I need your advice!!!!

Alright so as I mentioned yesterday I am thinking of cutting some of my hair.
Nothing drastic.
But something different.
I love my bangs so those are staying for now.
Right now my hair falls like 2 inches past my bra.
I am thinking of cutting maybe like 6 inches...
Here are a couple pictures I found that I like.This way I could still do my hair straight or even curl it.
With some of the length cut off the curl will hold better. And stay!

Let me know what you think!
or
if you have any different ideas...PLEASE share!
Thanks bunches!

Randomness

I have gone without toenail polish on for a few weeks now. This is rare. I always have polish on my tootsies.

I am kind of bummed that my refund has not come yet. Although it’s not supposed to be here yet. But the fact that my siblings got there’s and we filed on the same day bothers me. {That just seems to be my luck.}

When everyone else seems to have the January blues. I tend to get the February blues. This is NOT my favorite month. I don’t need a month reminding me everyday how single I am. {Thank You Hallmark!}

I am thinking of cutting my hair. I LOVE the length. But I also want something a bit different. Not too drastic {sorry Callie, not brave enough for the A-Line cut yet} but maybe 4-6 inches. I’m not sure. I need to look at some pictures.

I need some {new} black heels. Darn it! I hate when this happens ;)

I am so glad Melissa went home last night on Biggest Loser {I wouldn’t be surprised if she planned that.}. And so glad Daris was safe. I like that kid. I hope his mom gets to stay. I am not a fan of this “to be continued…” stuff.

And I really loved Ellen on American Idol. I thought she did good. Oh and did you catch Channing on Ellen...No, well here you go...

Happy Anniversary!

Today my parents celebrate 26 years together.
Aren't they cute?
They have been such a great example.
I hope I find someone who can make me as happy as they are.
Happy Anniversary!!!!

{ I love that they are still always holding hands}

Weekend Update & the book swap

This weekend did not quite go according to plan. But that is okay…It all worked out!
I was still not feel
ing the best so my original plans changed.

Friday, Amanda a
nd I went to a couple stores and grabbed some Golden Spoon. Nothing too exciting.

Saturday I was supposed to go to the snow. But I was still not feeling the best so I stayed home. However Saturday night I had a girls night planned and I sure as heck went to that. I met my cousin Tai at the theater and we saw Dear John. {I loved it, not the story line I was expecting, although I don’t really know what I was expecting. But Channing…oh Channing…he was good.} We then went to Texas Roadhouse. Oh dear that was delicious. Their rolls are superb. It was so nice to get together with her and chat and catch up. Life sure gets busy and in the way and we have been meaning to get together for quite awhile now. So it was nice that it actually happened. {Brittany we missed you!}

Sunday was church
, and well the Super Bowl. I was rooting for the Colts. I’m a Manning fan. But seeing Brees with his son after he won was precious. Now…did you know that the animal channel has a Puppy Bowl. And not only that but they have a Kitty Halftime Show. Yup. {And I feel like I wasted 30 minutes of my life watching that.} Why? I don’t know. It’s like an infomercial, it just sucks you in.

Today is Monday. {No Gym, I feel bad about that, but I get a nap}. But the week is off to a fairly good start.
Hope your week is going well!!!

oh yes...and I just received my book in the mail from my swap partner Elizabeth Denise. She sent Little Women. Oh how I LOVE this book. And this is such a beautiful copy. Thank You so so much Elizabeth!
and my swap partner (Angelina) got her book in the mail Friday. Can you guess what I sent? Just my absolute favorite...Pride & Prejudice. {Thanks Kateigh for putting it all together. I loved this!}

Movie Quote Friday!

Serendipity

Jonathan: This is the ultimate blend to drink. How'd you find this place?
Sara: I first came in because of the name: Serendipity. It's one of my favorite words.
Jonathan: It is? Why?
Sara: It's such a nice sounding word for what it means: a fortunate accident.
Bloomingdale's Salesman: So... you write for the obituary?
Dean: Absolutely.
Bloomingdale's Salesman: Hmm. You must be very proud.
Dean: Uh-huh. I'm the one with the last word.
Bloomingdale's Salesman: Not tonight.
Dean: Yes, I am.
Bloomingdale's Salesman: Don't think so.
Dean: Absolutely.
Bloomingdale's Salesman: Fat chance.
Dean: Still talking!
Bloomingdale's Salesman: Last line! Sara: Ok, favorite movie?
Jonathan: The correct answer is Cool Hand Luke.
Sara: I've never seen it!
Jonathan: Oh, come on! You've never seen Cool Hand Luke? Paul Newman? Oh my god! Come on! "Failure to communicate", sadistic cop with sunglasses with no name, who reminds me of you in that way.
Sara: Favorite moment?
Jonathan: This one is topping the charts right now. Eve: You see that is what happens when people get hooked on the new age life they end up sitting at home burning candles for mister right, when mister good enough for right now is waiting at the corner bar!
___________________________________________________________
Dean: [Lying on the grass with Jonathan, outside Sara's house] Maybe we're lying here because you don't wanna be standing somewhere else. Jonathan: So are you gonna meet your boyfriend now or what?
Sara: No, I think he's out probably doing what you're doing.
Jonathan: Getting a crush on somebody else's girlfriend? No, I'm sorry, I just meant I had a really nice time. You know, maybe you should give me your phone number. Just in case.
Sara: In case of what?
Jonathan: In case of life. I just had a really great time and for all we know I wouldn't be able to find you again.
Sara: Well, if we're meant to meet again, we'll meet again. it's just not the right time now.
Jonathan: Maybe we're supposed to meet on British time and we're five hours too early. Dean: Jonathan Trager, prominent television producer for ESPN, died last night from complications of losing his soul mate and his fiancee. He was 35 years old. Soft-spoken and obsessive, Trager never looked the part of a hopeless romantic. But, in the final days of his life, he revealed an unknown side of his psyche. This hidden quasi-Jungian persona surfaced during the Agatha Christie-like pursuit of his long reputed soul mate, a woman whom he only spent a few precious hours with. Sadly, the protracted search ended late Saturday night in complete and utter failure. Yet even in certain defeat, the courageous Trager secretly clung to the belief that life is not merely a series of meaningless accidents or coincidences. Uh-uh. But rather, its a tapestry of events that culminate in an exquisite, sublime plan. Asked about the loss of his dear friend, Dean Kansky, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author and executive editor of the New York Times, described Jonathan as a changed man in the last days of his life. "Things were clearer for him," Kansky noted. Ultimately Jonathan concluded that if we are to live life in harmony with the universe, we must all possess a powerful faith in what the ancients used to call "fatum", what we currently refer to as destiny.

{Thanks Natalie for the suggestion...I need to see this movie again :) }

ugh!

being sick is the worst!
{thank you dad for spreading the love there, after i specifically asked you Monday night to not pass it on to me}
I came home from work Tuesday, taking a half day. {those seemed like the longest 4 hours i have ever worked.}
and I have been home sick ever since.
not fun, not fun at all....

but today I am doing a bit better...maybe I am willing it to be so as tonight is institute.
{You know what that means}
and I am really really hoping I will feel well enough to go.
because I am really getting tired of looking like death and feeling horrible.

{sorry for the lack in commenting these past few days... I'm trying to catch up}
