Yeah.... I was the one that blacked out

If you know me, you know my LOVE for Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional. You also know how I had tickets to his concert. (which was last Thursday) I went with Tylon and Shaylee. We got there stood in line for a bit… got pretty close to the stage… I have been to several of his concerts and I think this time was the closest I had ever been. We just stood there… watched one of the openers. (don’t know him) T he other opener came on. (not a fan…he seemed so angry) Then it happened. I started to feel weird. Lightheaded. Fuzzy. And I said told Ty this… both him and Shay were standing side by side in front of me. I lean forward tell him I need to sit down. I feel weird. Even said I felt lightheaded… You’re in the middle of a crowd. Can’t quite sit down. So I rested my head on Ty’s shoulder. BOOM… I blacked out. And that was that. Next thing you know I am turning and walking, of course with help from Ty & Shay, out of the venue. My sight and hearing returns, find a place to sit down, got some water and that was that. I have no idea why I blacked out… I had had a cold for a good week at that point and hadn’t been exercising. So who knows if it was from standing for over 2 ½ hours. But I did go to the dr the next day. All is good. BP is perfect, EKG was perfect, blood test was normal. Dr. thinks I may have just been dehydrated. All I know was it was weird and happened at the worst possible time. And I scared the crap out of my siblings. All I can say is please Chris come back soon….

Huntington Beach

It was a very last minute road trip.
Shaylee, Tylon, Zach, and myself decided to go to the beach for the day.
We left early Saturday morning.... and headed to our destination.... CALIFORNIA!!!
We girls road shotgun.
While the boys slept in the back.
Shaylee was my expert navigator and tunes specialist.
She also knew the best beach to go to. (Thank heavens for that!)

Tylon and I at the pier restaurant Ruby's.
Zach and Shaylee.
Let me preface this by saying I have been to the beach a few times... but never got in, all the way... Shay talked me into it. It was fairly cold and windy but the water wasn't too bad (after your legs went numb) The boys went out... and then Shay and I did. We didn't even change. We went out in our pants. (not smart....note to self -change next time!)
I HAD SO MUCH FUN!!!!
We came back to our blankets were that above picture was taken.

(don't you love the hair do's... Shaylee looked perfect... my hair was a MESS!)We played for a couple few hours out there and once we couldnt feel our limbs any more we managed to change into some dry clothes and got back on the road again.
Boys back in the back seat... once again sleeping...
And Shaylee my trusty navigator getting me back on the right roads... Thank heavens she knows I am an anxious driver when I don't know where I am going...

I had a blast!!!! First time in the ocean was amazing!!!!

(another note to self = ocean water tastes SO nasty!!!!!!)

This might just be a bunch of mumble jumble…

I went on a date Saturday. It was a blind date. Set up by a sweet girl, {I am good friends with her cousin and she reads this here little blog}….hi Jenna!...

I was really looking forward to this date…. But it just didn’t go as well as I was hoping… Which was sad because early in the week this boy and I had been texting… and conversation seemed good over text…

Then the date came…I felt like there was no connection… no chemistry… there were times when I was at a loss for what to say…what to ask…. I also felt like we have different standards…(which is fine… but when you are talking about finding a companion to spend the rest of eternity with…well then I mind…)
Also… they guy never opened a door for me… not a huge deal… but I think it’s just respectful and sweet to do on a first date… you know, brownie points.
Then when you drop a girl off… get out of the car… that’s just what you do… I think door scenes are so awkward… I am really not a fan of them… but you don’t just drop a girl off without walking her to the door… right??? (That was a first)
Jenna and her husband were the best part of the date… sure fun to hang out with… thank heavens we doubled…

I guess I left the date just depressed… like finding a good guy who you are compatible with plus attracted too with the same standards doesn’t seem possible… {i know it is possible, i see it all around me... just get in that mood sometimes... }

a bit of a rut

I’ve been in a bit of a rut as to what to blog about…

Something’s I am not ready to share

Some I am too scared to share…

Even though it is my blog and I should be able to blog about whatever I choose…

I think all bloggers get to this rut every now and then.

I really do want to blog…

You know it’s like when you are on a date…. And you just get to this point and you’re like I have NOTHING to say… your mind goes blank and nothing comes to your mind as to what to say… just blank… and sure you could ask a stupid question about what color their tooth brush is… but really, you don’t care. So you don’t ask… and it’s just quiet…. That’s how I feel… while at the same time I just want to scream…

the TRUTH is...

… My mind is on a beach in CA. the beach is a happy/content place for me… which has me thinking… how many sundresses are too many for a week long beach/cruise vacation??? If you had to give a number… hypothetically speaking of course…

… My Mom has taught me to crochet… I am still learning… but so far… I LOVE it… so grateful I have her to teach me and there to ask any questions I have or fix any mistakes I make… it happens a lot.

… I am so not a dancer… which surprises me how much I love Zumba and Just Dance… I have zero moves myself. I went to a dance a week or so ago… oh gosh… not good… I seriously can’t shimmy… or shake my hips… you better bet your bottom dollar I pulled my moves from Zumba & Just Dance. I sure did. I was at least good for a few laughs…

some thoughts i had while speed dating

“ I feel like I am pulling teeth to try and get you to talk… oh wait… yes, talk about YOU the whole time… then you don’t stop talking… cool… ”

“Not interested!”

“Awkward silence… doo doot doo… I have NOTHING to say… I can’t think of anything to ask you right now… bell ring please… please!!!!”

“Tip: stop gazing around and pay attention for 3 minutes… only 3 minutes…”.

“Ahh… good conversation… why did that bell sound. Call me please… “

“DUDE… up here… they don’t talk”

“Ummm… please don’t be weird…. Dang it.”

”You’re a theater guy. I’m worried. I get the weird ones. Maybe they are all weird…”

"Yes I did just admit I knew what book you were referring too. I really have no clue. Don’t know why I said I did.”

“No I won’t tell you how to commit fraud… but nice try.”

"You are awkward…”

“I am glad you cleared that up that we aren’t related… thank you… I was worried about that one…” (note the sarcasm)

my weekend was exhausting! (too much fun!)

When I think back on the weekend I want to take a nap.
Just thinking of Saturday alone does that.

Friday: OFF work! But still didn’t sleep in, well slept in from waking up at 4am…but not sleeping in as in getting at least 8 hours of sleep. I went to Jessica’s and visited and hung out with Preston. Went and picked up my Mom from work and we planned on going to lunch with Tylon. Made some Baby shower invites for my SIL Amanda. Ty came home and we went to Crackers & Co. BEST sandwich ever… oh man… Pablano Pork Carnitas Melt. Heavenly I tell you!!! Tried to take a little nap. Worked on the invites some more… Went out with friends. Shopping and Nielsen’s Frozen Custard.

Saturday: RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL!!!! I ate… and ate... and walked…. and ate… and saved Preston from a bee… and ate some more…. Almost threw up… like dangerously close to having to barf in public… thank heavens that passed because that would have been embarrassing. After the RF I got home and went shopping with Tylon and Mom… came home… and went out with Tashina…. More shopping… I was exhausted!

Sunday: All I could think of was a nap… that’s my favorite thing about early church… Sunday naps! Watched some Oscars with my Dad. Then some Tylenol PM for the win! I had a great weekend… exhausting… but great!
