Christmas & New Year's Update!

Wow. I haven’t been too good at updating lately. (Here comes the excuse....) I have been sick. First with a stomach bug the family got at a Christmas party and then I got a cold which I am still working with. Fun stuff I tell ya! (note the sarcasm?)

Christmas was fantastic. All the family was here and it was so nice. There was lots of games, laughing, and visiting. We even got a family picture in (I’ll post later). There were lots of late nights playing Tetris party on the wii. Lots of sore limbs from playing Just Dance 2.

Besides being sick since Christmas I have been taking some time off from the gym to give my body a bit of a break. I go back today and I must say I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things… some cardio and Zumba are on the schedule today.

Randon and Callie made it back in town for New Years Eve. There were lots of fireworks (as they were just legalized here….because we never did them before….right??) I don’t know what the deal is with them not shooting up in the air but many of them got stuck and uh went off at eye level. This is the reason fireworks scare me…. Sheesh. It was fun and it was freezing. Mom and I stayed huddled together under a blanket in the backyard as the boys lit off a boat load of fireworks.

Saturday Tylon and I left to Flagstaff to take Randon and Callie home… we didn’t want them leaving early NYE so we made a last minute decision to take them home so we could keep them longer. We arrived to their house to lots of snow. It was a ton of fun. The snow was so powdery that we couldn’t make the snowman we wanted to. No matter how hard Ty tried…it just wasn’t working. We also went for a walk close to midnight to a nearby burrito shop in 0 degree weather. Fun stuff!

Now I am back at work.
Trying to come up with the things I want to work on this year…
Be back in a few…

Happy New Year!!!!

Christmas Weekend Update!

Christmas is over.
It slowly creeps up on you and then passes you by in a flash.
My Christmas was WONDERFUL!

After work {my half-day} on Christmas Eve, Tylon and I ventured out to finish up shopping. We went everywhere…Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, Kohl’s, The Mall, The Outlet Mall, CVS, Basha’s, Walgreens. Yes, we went everywhere. But we found everything we needed too. After getting home I took a nap. Then wrapped up all those gifts. Ate our Mexican dinner and then watched the newest Harry Potter and then the traditional It’s a Wonderful Life. We then headed to bed and waited for Santa.

Now that we are older we sleep in longer. We started our Christmas morning at 9 am. It was nice. We all sat in our designated seating area. While presents were passed out. We open our gifts one at a time. This year we began oldest to youngest. That means I got to go first {I think that was a first}. We all opened presents with our large 62” fireplace blazing in the background…{haha}. Santa was good to me this year…I guess that means I was a good girl, huh?

Zach came over Wednesday and stayed till Christmas. And Randon and Callie came Christmas afternoon. It was so fun to have them here. We played games and ate a TON of good food…{okay I ate a ton of good food}. All I know is that my goal is to prepare early for next year.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!!

Now I am {excitedly} looking forward to the New Year!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Okay….so I have not been able to post as much as I wanted to about Christmas this year…
but that’s okay. I will have plenty more Christmases to blog about in the future…
But I just wanted to share some of our Christmas Eve traditions.

1. We do our sibling gift exchange.

2. We do a family white elephant exchange.

3. We do a shaker gift (new tradition). This idea/tradition we got from a friend. They have ONE shaker gift. The only gift they are allowed to pick up and shake {hence the name}. And they have like the week before Christmas to shake the gift and figure out what it is. And on Christmas Eve you make your guess(s). Whoever guesses right gets the gift.

4. We watch “It’s a Wonderful Life”

Those are a few of our Christmas Eve traditions. I am excited for Santa to come visit! {haha}

I am most excited about being with Family. I LOVE my family! And love that this time of year focuses on that.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

{I'll post some of our Christmas Day traditions later}

Christmas Recap...

Christmas was GREAT! It was the first Christmas in like 3 years that the entire family was together. It was super nice. Randon and Callie came into town on Tuesday. I did have to work all week except for Christmas but it was not too bad.
I love the Christmas traditions we have. We also incorporated a couple new ones this year.
---We have a Taco Dinner Christmas Eve (New tradition). It was so good!

---Christmas Eve we have a White Elephant gift exchange...I won The Office Trivia Game.

---We also do our sibling gift exchange Christmas eve as well.
---We started a new tradition with a 'Shaker' gift. Everyone is allowed to shake this gift. We all guess what it is and the person who guesses correctly wins the gift. Randon won it this year...
--- And it's not Christmas if you don't watch 'It's A Wonderful Life'
Callie got a yoga set for Christmas so Mom, Callie, and I decided to try it out...It was fun. I sure felt it in my shoulders the next day though.

I love Christmas. Most especially the Christmas Spirit. I wish it lasted all year long.
